From the Get-Go

From the Get-Go

Like so many others, I spent years following the dream of having a long and fulfilling career (mine: fashion and creative production). Along the way, however, I realized how disconnected and unwell I had become. Originally educated as a designer, I climbed from styling assistant to executive producer before finally choosing my well-being over my job.

Because I spent so much time in hospitals as a child, I've always felt a connection to health. At the age of five I suffered congestive heart failure and a stroke. Despite a remaining life expectancy of only months, I underwent open heart surgery at Mayo Clinic. More than four decades later, I'm not taking my longevity for granted.

I've spent my years since studying with and learning from those gracious enough to share their time and expertise. After growing my yoga practice in India under Tara Judelle, I studied Ayurveda under Dr. Vasant Lad at The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, and Ayurvedic Nutrition and Culinary Training under Chef Divya Alter in New York City.

More recently, I studied Advanced Ayurveda during Gurukula under Dr. Satyajith Kadkol in South Karnataka, India.

Through it all I've found a community and home in NYC. The energy and diversity of the city keeps me inspired and hungry for more.
